Hillcrest Playground is currently getting some sprucing up. When it is completed maybe the area neighborhood residents could borrow an idea from 80 miles down I-95 and plan and hold an annual neighborhood block party at Hillcrest Park. Very few kids of all ages utilize the Hillcrest and Little Italy Playgrounds unlike years past when summer nights were many times occupied with playing basketball—especially at the former Stearns Junior High School outdoor court alongside the school with the school on one side and the football field facing East-West across the road on the other side.
