If at some grade level they used the sciences for the kids to learn and produce the product. They start by choosing the proper plants as in perennials(cost effective, no need for replanting). They grow from seed then they take that product and plant them wherever they have chosen(democracy) to beautify the town(performs their community service requirements). My second idea some have mentioned but I will layout my idea. I feel Mattawamkeag turned down an incredible opportunity last week when they voted down a Medical Marijuana grow facility. Uninformed or misinformed people make the same kind of decisions. I have not heard us being offered this. If not we should seek it out. It would be on the Mill property by which is already gated and has security available. It should be Hydroponic as this is cost effective when water is generated from the stream or surrounding waters. You can not use any treated water as in waste water/chlorinated. From this you get the water necessary for the plants and your hydro power. It could be housed in a building with retracting dome/roof as to utilize natures sun to reduce lighting needed in the summer months and summers fresh air. It should also be solar powered/wind powered? It would produce jobs(we already have knowledgeable people in town). THIS IS NOT A DISPENSARY! NO SALE WOULD COME FROM THIS IN THIS REGION. That would be a separate issue governed by the State of Maine as to where they are zoned. I have put on my armor for the comments to come my way ;)
I have two suggestions and one has nothing to do with the other.
