PUBLIC NOTICE

Our Katahdin (OK) has an open Request for Proposal for Environmental Consultant Services for a Brownfields Cleanup Project funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Program.

OK has been awarded a Brownfields Cleanup Grant in the sum of $1,500,000 to support the redevelopment of Brownfields through the cleanup of the #6 Fuel Oil Tank Farm and Rail Corridor on the former Great Northern Paper mill site in Millinocket, Maine.  OK is requesting information on qualifications from qualified environmental engineering/consulitng firms to assist with implementation of the grant-funded cleanup.

Advertisement for Bids - Cleanup of the Wastewater Treatment Plant

Ransom Consulting, LLC (Ransom), on behalf of Our Katahdin (OK), will receive bids for an abatement and cleanup project at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Clarifier on the former Great Northern Paper (GNP) Mill property in Millinocket, Maine (the “Site”), until February 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. local time. Bids shall be accepted via email to Jaime Madore, P.E. of Ransom (Jaime.madore at ransomenv dot com). Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner; all components of the bid submission must be scanned and be legible; and hard/original copies of the bid documents must be provided to Ransom prior to contract signing.  Proof of bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of five percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after opening of bids. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities. Contractor will be selected based on cost, schedule, and experience. A mandatory Prebid meeting will be held at the Site on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. local time.

Our Katahdin will hold a public meeting to discuss the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency-funded Brownfields Cleanup Project for the Engineering Building and Pilot Plant located at 1 Katahdin Avenue in Millinocket, at the former Great Northern Paper Mill Site. The public meeting will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Our Katahdin’s Offices located at 245 Aroostook Avenue in Millinocket. The meeting will also be televised via Zoom teleconferencing (information below).
