Our Katahdin selected as Down East editors’ 2015 pick for Best “By-the-Bootstraps Community Reinvention”
Katahdin Region, Maine – Our Katahdin was named the Editors’ Choice for Best “By-the-Bootstraps Community Reinvention” in Down East magazine's annual poll of reader and editor favorites, featured in the July 2015 issue. The editors went through a rigorous selection process and Our Katahdin was chosen as top in its category.
The annual “Best of Maine” readers’ awards provide Down East readers and editors the opportunity to recognize their favorite Maine people, places and things around the state.
“We are honored by this recognition by Down East magazine, a world-class publication” said Mike Faloon, Vice President of Finance and Investments at Our Katahdin. “We accept this recognition on behalf of the community leaders, donors and volunteers who are putting ideas into action in the Katahdin region. No matter how small, every successful project delivers measurable results, builds optimism and allows us to think bigger”.
Kathleen Fleury, Down East editor-in-chief, spoke of the selection process, saying, “The selection process is one that everyone puts a lot of time and thought into – so it’s a true honor to be selected.” Fleury added. The full list of “Best of Maine” winners appears in the July issue of Down East, on newsstands June 23.
