Christmas gets a little brighter on the Millinocket Main Street!

Great news!  Thanks to you, we've reached our goals for this project!

Thank you for spreading the word, volunteering and/or donating to this project. We reached our initial $350 fundraising goal, and even exceeded it, which allows us to fully reimburse the project leaders for their purchases for the bandstand:

  • A 10’ live Christmas tree
  • 750 commercial LED tree and railing lights
  • Decorated wreaths
  • Large red bows for the railings
  • A tree skirt
  • Extension cords
  • Timer for the lights

We can also reimburse the project leaders for some of the decorations used in the two storefronts at the former “Russ’ Barber Shop.”  (next to Wilson’s Jewelry)   Any future donations we receive by mail will be carried over to a similar 2015 Christmas project with the donor's permission.

We will be able to reuse all of the undamaged lights and decorations, and a volunteer just offered to donate wreaths for next year's project!  This was a tremendous, collective success for all those involved.

WISHING YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS, AND A HAPPY, HEALTHY NEW YEAR!

Please feel free to leave a comment below for the project leaders, volunteers and donors.  Please also visit the Ideas page to suggest future projects that would be beneficial to the towns in the Katahdin region.  Ideas that include representation from all three towns, involve youth, and/or focus on potential for economic development are of highest interest.  This initial project has proven that people are interested, engaged and willing to commit to good ideas.

All comments, suggestions and ideas are welcome!
