Letter from club President John Raymond:
Hello ATV Users; I am sending you this letter to ask for your support in our new trail effort. It was just 5 years ago that the NTC was able to get open KRMUT the first Multi-Use ATV trail with the trail starting at the NTC clubhouse and continues for 16 miles to West Sebeois and points further west. It took over 5 years of work to complete this trail but with permission from Katahdin Forest Management and over Half Million dollars it became a reality.
Just this year with the support of the Millinocket Town Council and Law enforcement we are able to access our community with the new Millinocket ATV Access Routes that now allows easy access to the KRMUT trail and out of town ATVers easy access to Food/Fuel/Lodging in our area.
The NTC's next project is to secure ATV access to the northeast of us to Patten/Sherman area that will open hundreds of miles of ATV trails from Fort Kent to Downeast and we are also are looking to open a Multi-Use ATV Park in the Katahdin area. To do this I have to meet with 4 land owners and try to convince them of the importance of this trail and what it would mean to this area if we could do this. To accomplish I will need the support of the Business community, Local ATV Clubs, Land Owners and YOU the ATV user.
One question that I always get asked by land owners are how many registered ATV’s in Millinocket and how many belong to NTC and as of right now there are over 330 ATV’s registered in Millinocket and we have 20 that are members. We really need to get these numbers up to show the land owners we have support for this project so Please Join the NTC ATV CLUB. It’s only $25 for a Single or Family and $10 goes to ATV Maine and $15 stays local with our club and that gets you a $3500 accidental life insurance policy from ATV Maine. So please consider joining and help the ATV movement because there is “STRENGTH IN NUMBERS”. Thank you for your time and will be looking forward to signing you all up. Our Meetings are the first Wednesday of each month @ 7pm, hope to see you there!
