Annual Elks Kid’s Christmas Party Puts a Smile on many a Child’s Face

On Sunday December 14, 2014,

The Elks Annual Kid’s Christmas Party served over 200 parents/grandparents and children hot dogs, popcorn, candy, and drinks. The children played Beano and won prizes. They also were all entered in door prize contests. There were prizes for ages 1-3, 4-7, and 8-12 year-old boys and girls.

This year’s grand door prize was an Amazon Fire tablet with cover for one boy and one girl. The highlight of the event was when Mr. and Mrs. Claus came to pass out gifts to the children. Bobbie Allen (Chairperson) was supported by John Allen, Mark Malcolm, Ron McInnis Exalted Ruler, John Nicholson, Rod Cyr, Ron Darling, Tim Beaulieu, Dave Van Dine , Betty Jo Austin, Gerald “Slugger” Barnes, and Kevin and Sue Jandreau who helped to put on this event. This Annual Kid’s Party has been going on for decades and is just one of the community projects they are involved in putting on.

It was such a wonderful time seeing all the smiles on the kid’s faces. Christmas is such a fun time for seeing kids enjoying the holiday waiting for Santa to come.
